Wonder || Book Review

Wonders by R.J. Palacio

This book buries a clear yet deep message. This book is funny, sad, happy and a all in one book. It definitely open my eyes to how big one heart can be. In this book, August was born dis formed. Since birth he had multiple surgeries but never get out a sigh. His family were super supportive and one day his mother wanted to send him to a real school as he has been home schooled ever since. At first August did not want to go, the fear of being judged. But all the reasons came through and he agreed to give it a try.

At first it was hard, he had people taking behind his back, avoid touching him like he had disease and even called him names. He ignored them and despite all the negative, he found the good in bad. He made some friends who were really nice and truly wanted to help him. Summer and Jack was always there for him and its so touching to see how the bundle together and make the best of every day. In the end, August made everyone realized who he truly is and what is underneath his skin, a funny, smart and kind boy who just wanted to be normal. August has the strength to not grant pity but the heart and souls of others just by being true to himself.

This book taught us a lot on how we should love ourselves despite what size, color and physical appearance. It also taught us that sometimes, being imperfect is enough and enough is perfect.
