Shadowhunter Season 2

Thoughts on Shadowhunter Season 2 on Freeform

I think this season will be far better than the fist one and I hope it is becasue the Shadowhunter world is amazing and I would love to see it unfold.

I think Kat is becoming Clare every moment. I think the first season, she was more detached and didn't understand the character Clare enough but in this first episode of season two, I saw how natural it was for her to be Clare, as if she understood Clare enough that she has become Clare. Jace was still a little off to be honest and I can't get over Simon's humor. He is my buddy. Would love to see more Simon and Izzy romance. Malec was okay-ish. I won't saw I can't feel the chemistry, I can, but it feels a little weird. The scrip writer should pay more attention to how natural the lines sound instead of how nice it would sound because the lines are amazing and touching when read but when the actors said it , it sound't as if they are reading off of a poetry book.

If you have not watch or read about the shadowhunter, then grab your sword and jump into the portal because this is a world is a ride.

Dreamology

Dreamology

This book is the cutest love story I've ever read. It has multiple heartbreaks and point where I just want to pull my hair out but it was so sweet, so adorable, and utterly romantic in it's own way. The story carries a powerful vibe of love and relationship throughout the whole book and anyone can easily fall in love with it.

This book is about a girl, Alice, who had bad nightmares when she was a kid. After having some scanning and stuff, she got better. The nightmares become beautiful dreams. She dreams of a boy named Max. In her dreams, they would travel the world, do the impossible, and hold each other. It is only in her dream that she didn't feel lonely. The best part of her day is when she is dreaming of Max. When Alice moves from New York, she is enrolled in a new school. Starting over was hard but it gets harder when her dream Max is sitting in the same classroom as her. It nearly gave her a heart attack. How can someone in your dream be real? How can someone you knew so well in your dream feel like a stranger?

I cannot contain the amount of cuteness in this book nor can I count the number of times my heart threw glitter into the air. It was a very easy read and a very good story, one that everyone dream.

Bitter Sweet Love (The Dark Elements 0.5)

Bitter Sweet Love (The Dark Elements 0.5)

I'm a sucker for romance books right now but this book has a mix of fantasy in it which I surprisingly love. It's so beautifully written. The author knows how to lour you into her book and her words will swallow you up whole. Literally finished this book in an hour. It was so easy to read and definitely a page turner.

This book is about demons and gargoyles. The demons are evil and the gargoyles act as guards and protectors. Dez wasn't only Jas crush but her soul mate. They were in love for a long time but three years ago Dez left without reasons or goodbyes. After three years Dez came back and was going to mate with Jas (a gargoyle thing for wedding). Jas still loves him but felt betrayed that he left without telling her the truth. Before they get married, the two couple have to each say yes within 7 days. Jas took advantage of her seven days to decide but under some conditions, Dez has to take her away, travel the city, and kill a demon. It was dangerous but Dez agreed. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again.

All the feels:

Dez is so sweet and so loving while Jas is so strong, fierce and really stubborn. I think these two make a very cute couple. The storyline was beautiful and the ending will melt your heart.

Crown's Game

Crown's Game

I did not expect this book to be so consuming. Gosh! I feasted on the book like a cannibal. It was marvelous. The characters felt so real and were easy to connect to. The author knows how to create the scene and make her readers imagine the situation in their minds as if they are there themselves. The feeling, romance, betrayal, fear, and power felt so mystical like I can enchant something with a snap of my fingers myself. The author did not just write about power and magic, she gave them to the readers.

This book is about the Crown's game. Each country is only allowed to have one enchanter. Russia, where the story took place, have two, though they do not know that until the time comes when they have to play the game. The game's rules are fairly simple. Kill or be killed. The strongest enchanter will kill the other. Only one can survive. However, what happens when the enchanters both fall in love? Can they kill each other? The Prince knows both the enchanters, one is his best friend and the other is his love. Once he becomes the king, can he watch them slaughter one another and can he live without one or the other?

This book had me

WHY?! ASDFHDGJFLHJK

It's incredible. If you like the Red Queen, The Hunger Games, or the Court of Mist and Fury, then it's a mash of everything. However, it's not like a mimic of them, it has it's own identity and it's own twist and turns. The story blooms itself.

The world Evelyn created in this book is so complete. Readers would love to dive into her world without hesitation but would find themselves stuck in her fantasy for it's one that no one would want to leave.

The Rose and the Dagger

The Rose and the Dagger

I didn't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this. I was quite disappointed in this book.

Because:
1. There were not as many romance as I would like.
2. The curse was broken almost too easily and it sounded fake to me.
3. The ending was sweet but I guess I expected more after the first book. It seems like the author may have rushed the ending but I don't know.

What I do like about this book is how well the characters evolved and became stronger. They each have their own voice that is very different and it takes a lot for a writer to develop such complete characters whiles joggling between them when writing. I also love how the story somehow teaches us to forgive but never forget and how to be selfless when it comes to love ones.

I don't want to give anything away but the story was so well built in the first book that I expected more dramatic ending. But, of course, I do have a weird taste in mystery, thriller, and drama. I want them to either go overboard or to never surface on shore.

It was a good and easy read. Would definitely recommend it if you loved the Court of Thorns and Roses series because they both revolved around the story of Beauty and the Beast.

Shadowhunters TV Series FINALLY

Shadowhunters TV Series FINALLY

I think the TV Series is getting better and better, or maybe we just learn not to expect too much. However, I do have to say that the ending for Episode 1 was pretty fascinating.

Somehow, I feel more love between Clary and Alec than Clary with Jace. When Jace went through the portal, Clary wanted to jump in with him but Alec went to grab her and she sobbed in his arms. I thought that was nice and in my mind, I only hope that that chemistry was between Jace and Clary.

Also, when Magnus finally got to wake up Jocelyn, Luke was there immediately to swipe her up in his arms. It was so romantic when he said;  "I got you." Ohhh I melt.

I hope season two will reveal more of Simon and Izzy's relationship because I really want that to happen. Like. Right. Now.

It was sad that I cannot feel the connection between Jace and Clary, but it was even more depressing to not feel anything between Magnus and Alec. I feel like they are just friends, like they will be good parabatai. Magnus (Harry) shows more emotions for Alec but I cannot see it in Alec's eyes. It's not there. Or maybe he is just trying to play cool. BUT IN THE BOOK, when he sees Magnus, his eyes lit up, I don't feel that in the TV series. Maybe it'll get better. Fingers crosses.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Oh man. where do I start? You know when you read Cassandra Clare's book, you have to be prepared for your heart to be shattered to million pieces.

The betrayal will swallow your heart with pain, the grief will bind you with sorrow, and the love will tear your soul into two.

I went to Cassandra Clare's Lady Midnight Tour and she told the audience, "just when you get to 2/3 of the book, get yourself ready in a fetus position."

Cruel but genius.

In the book, no spoilers, Emma wants to find out who killed her parents 5 years ago. She never has enough clues to figure it out and the Claves would not help her. She was on her own. Until recently, there has been some murder in the downworlders. Faeries have been killed, drowned, burned. Even worst, their body was marked with the same markings on Emma's parents. It drove Emma wild to find the murderer of her parents. Thank the Angel she has Julian Blackthorn, her parabatai, to anchor her back to herself.

The more they dig deeper into the mystery, the more lost they felt. The mystery was not only about Emma, but also about Julian and the rest of the Blackthorn. It was a mystery buried in ancient time with revenge and lost.

The ending will have you screaming for more and the love dilemma will have you drown in your own tears.

I will say no more. Cassandra Clare definitely has a way to draw her readings into her Shadow world and leads them into a remarkable adventure both physically and emotionally.

Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg

Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg

All the Feelsssssss !

Okay, this book was a little too intense. There's a lot of drama, a lot of conflicts, a lot of bitches, but also a lot of bonding. It's all too much in one, and you think it'll be too much to handle but they all seem to fit perfectly well and balanced. That is life. Life is suck. Life does not give you one problem after another. It throws everything at you and expect you to deal with it.

I think Zoe did a great job in this book by addressing real life problem and situations. Zoe exposed to all her readers that no one's life is perfect, no matter how happy they look in pictures or how perfect their life is on videos. She exposed the rawness of life in this book that the readers surely are able to taste. Although, not all of us get to date a famous singer but we can relate to problems like long distance relationships, conflicts; we can all relate to how people use us in our life to get what they want and how forgiving is a better way to mend the heart than trying to hide and forget.

In this book, Penny goes on the tour with Noah, expecting to spend much more time together. But the first concert has already set a disastrous start. She got lost, lost her phone, and got anxiety when Noah is performing in a big concert. Luckily, Megan is there to help her.Yes, the same Megan that betrayed her before. Penny goes home and decides to still go on tour with Noah, facing her fear and overcoming her anxiety.

As the tour starts, Noah is been super busy with work and meetings. They literally did not spend a day together or did anything that was on their to-do-list. Not only that, Penny is receiving blackmails from the person who stole her phone, threatening her to break up with Noah. Even worst, Noah's best friend who is the drummer of the band is a jerk and got fame up in his head.

When Leah, Noah's fake celebrity girlfriend, comes on tour too, Penny is shaking with anxiety and worries. However, Leah and Penny did not become enemies like she expected, but the opposite; they become best friends. During this tour, Penny made many friends, understand the real world better, and got to experience this chapter of life that was totally alien to her. But as the tour went on, she felt that her relationship with Noah was not going anywhere. Regardless on how much she wants this relationship to work and how much she still wants Noah in her life, Penny knows that she has to do what feels right for Noah and for herself. Will this be the end of Noah and Penny?

The ending was sweet but also will make you want to pull your hair out ! I cannot wait for the 3rd book !

hugs and kisses

Shadowhunters TV Series Review (Episode 1-8)

Shadowhunters TV Series Review (Episode 1-8)

Since episode 1, I have been watching this series every Tuesday, hoping that it would be better. Surprisingly, it has ! I liked episode 5 a lot. I think what changed was me. I finally accepted that the TV series will never be like the book series. I also kind of not judge the series so harshly and kept my expectations low while I watch it.

So here are my thoughts:

Lets get the bad things out first- I didn't like the scene where Izzy had to have sex with the fairy to get information. She is Izzy, she doesn't need to use her body to get information. I also think that Clary is a little fake-ish? I don't know. What she says sounded like she is reading the script from her hand or something. I just don't believe her sometimes. However, sometimes she does have a good sense of humor, especially with Alec.

I absolutely love Magnus and Alec scene. It was adorable ! I also like Jace and Simon scene because they somehow had this thing that's really funny and like brotherly-friendish bond. Totally ship it!

I liked the scene where Alec, Simon, and Clare went back to her flat to get the box. That bond between them was remarkable. I died. I felt that that should be Jace, Simon and Clary, tho.

Not to mention, in episode 6,7, and 8, Luke showed up more and it became more interesting. I like the scene when Luke became the alpha. Also, when he was hurt, they had to send him to Magnus, Ugh that scene was GOLD !

Overall, I feel that the series is getting better and better. I have been looking forward to Tuesdays more and clearing my schedule around to watch it. Some of the actors might not have fallen into their characters yet but I see potential. I feel that they are slowing growing into their characters' skin and be them in each episode.

I do wish that the scripts were written by fans. How awesome would that be? Not to mention, how different it will be entirely?

The Copper Gauntlet by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

The Copper Gauntlet by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

This. Book. Is. INTENSE!

So in the end of the first book, Call discovered who he really is. Now, he has to hide what and who he is from his friends and Masters at the academy. Despite all that, his father is trying to kill him and death zombies are trying to kidnap him. When you think nothing else could possibly go wrong, your best friend betrays you and now the whole magical institute is looking for your dad to kill him. Yep, it's a handful.

In this book, you can really see how much Call personality has changed and grow after knowing who is his. You get to feel the dilemma and doubt that Call has after everything that happened to him. For a young teenage boy, he is really brave, funny, and so down to earth. You also can see how much his relationship with his friends has grown. Their bonds are literally like Harry Potter, Herminia, and Ron, or like Jace and Alec.

The ending of the book was both very heroic and smart. Call did something that he knew was going to kill him but he also knew if he didn't do it, everyone else will die. But the ending isn't the ending. Even though the war was over between the people and the Enemy of Death, there's still demons out there: demons that will stop at nothing to dim the light of good and lit the life of evil.

The Iron Trail by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

The Iron Trail by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

Another round of applause to Cassandra Clare for drowning me in her sea of words. I am obsessed with Cassandra Clare's writing. I know in this book series, she is writing it with Holly Black but as you read the book, you can sense a lot of Clare's style and imagination. After living in her mind space for more than 10 books, you will know what that lady is thinking and how she writes.

This book reminds me a little bit of Percy Jackson, some Harry Potter, and Clare's new book Shadowhunter Academy. It's about a boy, Call, who lives in this magical world where people can do tricks and play around with magic using the elements of earth, fire, water, and air. However, not everything is rainbows and unicorns. Call's father did not want Call to attend the magical school where they teach them powers and how to control them. He said that magic was evil; it killed Call's mother and it will kill Call too. That was not the end of the story. Long ago, there was two brothers, one became more powerful than the other. The powerful one became the leader and the brother became his assistance. They were a pair, like parabatai if you will. One day the brother died and the stronger brother wanted to bring him back to life. This leads him to a dark tunnel of evil and becoming the Enemy of Death. The academy and everyone was fighting this Enemy of Death for years because he was not only trying to bring people back to life but also breaking the rules of death. People who were brought back to life wasn't living; their souls were empty and they hearts were dark.

For years, people have been trying to find the Makar, a person who can defeat the Enemy and for years, they have failed, until Call came along. Call not only was able to learn more about magic and the history of his parents, he was able to learn who is really is and what he really was. Suddenly, his innocent, young life becomes a cloud of secrets and lies.

You will not believe how fast I read this book. It's just something about Clare's writing that can make you forget time, forget reality, and even your life. no joke. You can feel as if you are in the story. It is so easy to read, maybe because it was so interesting that you would not want to put the book down, and it was very challenging. There's a lot of friendship bond, action, secrets. All the juices you want in a good book ! Officially crowning Cassandra Clare the queen of fantasy writer.

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

Noah is funny, spontaneous, and loving. He is the type of guy you wish for on 11:11 and the definition of the modern Prince Charming. Penny is innocent, lucky, and very down to Earth. She is someone you would want to be or someone you would want in your life because she can just make you laugh.

In this book, Penny suffers from anxiety since she got into a car accident with her parents. Elliot, her best friend who lives next door, is the only one who knows about this. Penny decides to start an anonymous blog to write down her feelings and to be free. The blog worked ! Through the blog, she is able to express herself and also finds people facing similar issues. She feels connected, normal, and okay.

Penny is also a very good photographer. So one day, the school play asked her to take pictures. She got on stage to take the whole cast photo but fell and it was such an embarrassing moment for her. Soon, the video of her falling and crawling off stage went live on the internet. She is devastated but what made it even worst is the fact that it was her best friend since secondary school, Megan, who posted the video.

For Christmas, Penny's parents are going to New York to organize a wedding so it was a little escape for Penny, too. Since Penny's brother, Tom, who in fact is the most loving and thoughtful brother anyone could ever wish for, did not want to go, Elliot goes with Penny.

At New York, Penny bumps into Noah, a charming, good looking, and funny guy. They end up spending the whole day together and things happen, feelings changed, and connections sparked.

When Penny's little escape trip comes to an end, she is ready to say goodbye to Noah but only because she knows that they will surely see each other again.

When she got back home, things changed, secrets are spilled, and Penny knows her relationship with Noah will never be the same again.

This book was a fast and easy read. It was very touching and funny. I love Zoe, I think she is such an amazing person with such amazing personality. This book really reflected her in a way that her views can understand and recognize. I keep imagining Penny as Zoe in many cases.

I know there's a lot of people saying that Zoe did not write this book herself and that there's a ghostwriter. Yes, I am a little disappointed that she didn't write it herself but No, you cannot say she didn't put in effort to finish this book. I mean, if you know Zoe, she has anxiety, she is a good photographer, and she has a blog where she write all her feeling, thoughts, and ideas. This book is like Zoe's life story in fictional form. Marcus has a book about himself, Taylor Oakley has a book about his life too, and so many other Youtuber. Zoe was just bringing out her creativity and writing her life story in a fictional form. She loves writing, she loves being true to herself, and I believe she worked equally as hard as the writer to finish this book.

The message in this book was not only to get out of your comfort zone and fight your anxiety but also to not send hate though social media. If you have nothing nice to say, it's better not to be said. Zoe addressed at the end of her book that being mean and rude to other people online is never okay and it's never nice. You may be seeing their video or reading their blog post but you do not know them entirely. One video of them is only 10 minutes of their 24 hour life. One blog post is only a ruler long of their thoughts.

hugs and kisses,

Shadowhunter Academy

Shadowhunter Academy

If you love Simon in Clare's book, then you will fall in love with him again in this book.

Simon. He is smart, funny, innocent, and just the kind of guy you would want to spend your whole life with. He is also the kind of guy you wish you could punch sometimes to shake some sense out of him. In the last book of Mortal Instrument series, Simon gave up his memories to a demon in order for Clary, Jace, Izzy, Alex, and Magnus to go back to the human world. Once he got back, Clare didn't get to see him and his life went back to normal as if he and Clare never met. Clare was heartbroken, even more so with Izzy. When Magnus and Clare went to find Simon again after the big battle with Sebastian was over, they found out that he named his band "Shadowhunter," which obviously means he remembers some part of it, right? I mean it's Simon he is a curious little beast.

So Magnus got this idea of letting Simon into the shadow world again and give him back his memories by being a shadowhunter.

So Simon agreed. In this book, it's all about Simon going to the Shadowhunter Academy, learning how to be a shadowhunter, and hopefully be able to find a parabatai. Throughout the book, you will want to hug him because he just seems like a lost puppy without his memories but sometimes you will also want to punch him because of what he says to Izzy. He breaks up with Izzy because he says he can never be the Simon she remembers because he has forgotten who that Simon was. He says that it isn't right for him to let her wait till he gets his memories back and wants Izzy to move on.

Throughout his journey to be a shadowhunter, he lives in a nasty dorm, makes new incredible loyal friends and even some not so great ones, he also learns many skills and the history of the Shadowhunters. Most importantly, he gets to rediscover who he is and what he wants to be. He might never be the same Simon in the past that everyone remembers, but his is not less incredible now and I think everyone loves him regardless.

It's a soul grabber. It's a very short book but full of content and excitement. After this book, it's even harder to not love Simon and the Shadow world that Clare has created. It's both amazing and remarkably magical.

The Remedy

The Remedy

This book is supposed to be the introduction to the book The Program. In this book, some teenagers under the age of 18 are trained to be closers. They are trained to help people get over their griefs and move on in life. Quinlan McKee is a closer since she was seven years old. Her mother died and her father works in the same field. Every week or two, she will be assigned to a family's house and help them grief over their loss. How does it works? Quinlan will study how they die, what they used to be like, how they talk, things they like to do, mimic their behavior, dress up like them, and becomes them. This job is not like therapy or counseling. Quinlan has to become the daughter of the family, she has to forget who she is to become another person. On one assignment, Quinlan has to pretend to be Catalina, whose death is undefined. The family is nice to her, Catalina has a boyfriend, and for once, Quinlan feels like she is living a normal life. She got depressed when she realize that in another two weeks she might be in another family's house, being someone totally different. She may be helping people grief but she still hurts. She may be taking other people's pain away but she is lost. She has to find herself again and anchor that in her before she is lost forever in another girl's life. While on this assignment, Quinlan becomes suspicious over Catalina's death and on the same time, her partner, Aaron, is also on an assignment and his patient's death is also undefined. There is a pattern to all the deaths and there is something going wrong with the system, and the cooperation and Arthur Pritchard (Creator of the Program) are at the center of it.

I never got so confused whiles having so much information and answers. This book is brilliant! The feelings were there and real. I never felt as lost as I am reading this book, so depressed and sad for Quinlan. She has to help others grief while she has no time to feel hurt and recover herself. However, how the book ended left me with more question than what I 've started with. I am really looking forward to another book to give me all the answers. This book has the elements of suspense, mystery, romance, betrayal, and psychological drama, that readers will fall head over heels for. It's like PB&J sandwich, all mushed up together, don't look so great, but brilliantly combined.

The Treatment

The Treatment

You matter - Realm

I am helplessly destroyed by this book. It was amazing! It's actually rare for all the books in a series to all be amazing but Young did a wonderful job in keeping her readers hooked. In the book, the Program would give patients pills to erase their memories, I think that is what Young is trying to do. Giving her readers excitement, suspense, betrayal, and romance, then leaving her reader to dwell in her world and forgetting reality; the world where friendship, hope, and love is the Treatment to depression.

So the first book of the series, the Program, left off with Sloan and James running away. In this book, both of them join the rebellions but there was something fishy about them. James and Sloan cannot trust anyone. Things didn't go as well as planned and the Program are now hunting them. With no one they can trust, Sloan and James have to stick together but something came between them. Sloan is captured and brought back to the Program. This time, they will not just erase her memory but they will make that she is erased from the world.

Reading this book, being in Sloan's mind, and experiencing what she is going through, feeling what she is feeling, and just living in her thoughts can be both dangerous and exciting. When I take a step back from the book, I actually have to gather my thoughts together and get back to myself and to reality. Young definitely has her way of making her readers feel involved in the story. It was a brilliantly, well written, amazingly told story and I wish the tale would not end.

“It's taken me all this time, all this loss, to realize what really matters is now.”

Winter - The Lunar Chronicle Series

Winter - The Lunar Chronicle Series

The last book of the Lunar Chronicle series. If you don't know what this book is or what the series is about, it's basically a twist to fairytale where princesses are from the moon, people have robot hands, and space ships traveling through space. This series has 4 books, Cinder (Cinderella), Scarlet (Red Riding Hood), Cress (Rapunzel), and Winter (Snow White).

In this book, you get to be in different character's mindset for each chapter so it can be a little confusing and it's also hard to feel for them and to connect with them. However, it is an 800+ page book and everyone is doing their own thing, battling their battles, so it's nice to get the whole dynamic of things.

It's hard for me to really summarize the whole book because :-
a. there's a lot of detail in 800+
b. you have to read the whole series to really understand the situation
c. I cannot Not spoil the whole book for people who have not read it yet because if I were to tell you the summary of the book, then I would be telling you or hinting you the ending.

Overall, I really like the series. It was a smart twist to the classic fairytale. If you liked the TV show Once Upon a Time, then this series is the perfect guilty pleasure.

Through out this book series, I really liked the connection and the chemistry between all the princesses. They might be just girls/cyborg, but they are tough and girl stick together. I also liked Wolf and Scarlet's relationship. I feel that they have this really sexy, cheeky thing going on. I absolutely adore Thorne and Cress. They are so cute and adorable together. It's a classic love story of a naughty boy falling in love with a naive girl. Their relationship will make you fall in love again, no doubt. Kai and Cinder's relationship is very mature and strong. I think it's really hard for a girl to see her boyfriend get marry with her aunt, so to do that, Cinder is very strong and she knows what best for everyone.

Not forgetting, Winter and Jacin. Winter is this kind, naive, and innocent girl that has the softest heart with the strongest personality. Jacin on the other hand is like Edward Cullen, protective, loving, and annoyingly hot. Since they grew up together, Winter was uncertain over their relationship but in the end, ughhh, it was worth it guys!

It's always sad to end a series because it's like the ending of Harry Potter, after having so much feelings and connection with all the characters, saying goodbye to them is hard. When you hit the last page and suddenly realize that it's the end, your heart will shatter to pieces because it's like saying goodbye to all your friends during high school graduation. You will never know what will happen to them next, you will never know what they are thinking, nor will you be able to live in their mindset and feel what they are feeling. But every good thing has to come to an end. It was a marvelous book/series and you will surely love the adventure, the action, the mystery, the secrets, and the romance. All the elements may seem overwhelming and too much to handle, but trust me, in the book, you will be craving more.

It's a nice unexpected fairytale of how a brave princess becomes the queen with the help of other loyal princesses.

My Thoughts on The Shadowhunter TV Show on FreeForm

My Thoughts on The Shadowhunter TV Show on FreeForm

Yesterday, I had to chain up my inner fangirl. Not only PLL is back with 5 years forward but the new Shadowhunter series was up live ! I watched it twice. In my offense, the first time I watched it, I was too distracted by Simon's cuteness and Alex's hotness. It's hard for me to break down and to gather my thoughts together on what I thought of the series but after a night of calming down my fangirl self, I will try my best.

Overall, it was amazing. I love the whole shadowhunter thing. I think Dominic as Jace is absolutely amazing. He is very protective, hot (obviously), strong, and has his own personality, a nice twist to the "original" Jace. Alec is drop dead hot ! And the chemistry between him and Jace is there, so transparent yet so layered, ya'know. It's like this thing going on where he always has Jace back and gets jealous when Jace finds Clare. Argh I ship this ! I also like Isabelle; she is fierce, sexy, dangerous, and actually really smart. Don't get me started on Simon. I love Simon. He is funny, he is always there for his friends, he is cute and hot, and he can SING (!), did I mention that he is funny? Luke is really hot too, compare to the original movie, The City of Bones, Luke looks wayyyy hotter and very mysterious. Same goes to Jocelyn, she is much like the modern type of mom, very pretty, sexy, and strong.

You may have notice that I miss out one important person, Clare, oh I don't know, I just felt that she is not really what I expected. Lily Collins set up a high standard to be Clare Fray but I don't know, I felt that Kat (who plays Clare in the series) has not yet understand Clare as a character and has not really let this whole thing sink in? I mean her mood changes too fast that I don't know if I can believe her or not. One second she is screaming at Jace, saying that he is insane, while he explains to her about demons, the next, she is up for a mission to fight the most powerful Shadowhunter. She also runs away in a middle of a conversation a lot . However, I do admire her courage and her determination to find her mother. Not to mention, she has beautiful eyes. (I like looking at people's eyeballs, okay, don't judge)

The pace of the series was also really fast. I think that was the main problem for me. I would much prefer them to shoot an episode of how Clare comes to understand shadowhunter, let it sink in, digest it for a while, and wrap her mind around the new world and her true identity. Instead, in the first episode she was already going into the shadowhunter mood, which, for me, happened too fast, so maybe that was what made it hard to believe.

I would love to watch the whole episode, nonetheless. I love the world that Cassandra Clare has built. It's a world of demons, magical creatures, and shadowhunters that you wish to escape to when the reality seems to be the demon himself.

The Program

The Program

I think prince charming is too old school, every girl deserves a James in their life. Every girl needs a boy that can remind them how lovely they are even then they look like a laughing giraffe. Every girl needs a boy that can pick up her broken pieces and cherish them like his own. Every girl needs a boy to tell them "everything will be okay," when she lost hope, even though he does not believe that tomorrow will be okay, he needs her to believe so. James is that guy.You know when nothing's going right, James will make everything better. But what happens when James cannot make it better?

Sloan is broken but she has to fake it to live. She has to fake it or she will be sent to The Program. The Program is where people go when they are depressed. The people in the Program "fix" them. When the "patient" comes out of the six-week program, they are empty souls. They can no longer remember their past, they can no longer remember who they were or who they are. When Sloan's brother dies, Sloan was broken but James was there to fix her. Now, a good friend of theirs commits  suicide, Sloan has to keep James together or he will be sent to the Program.

When James' situation gets worse, he is sent to the Program. A week later, so does Sloan. The six-week in the Program is horrible. She wants to hold on to her memories because they are all she has but the Program slowly strips them away from her, one by one. After six weeks, she no longer remembers anything from the past, she no longer remembers who she was like before. It's as if she is a walking robot, alive, but empty inside. Although she could not remember anything from the past, whenever she sees James, she feels something different. Slowly, day by day, memories from her past hits her. She could remember bits and pieces and she remembers James.

When nothing seems important and everything matters, go with your gut. I love this book. The love that James and Sloan has is like Bella and Edwards'. It's unbearably sweet and the story line is utterly moving. Not gonna lie, I finished this in less than 5 hours. The last time I read a book this fast was Twilight? I don't know. It was amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book!

The Sword of Summer Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard

The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard)

Rick Riordan has done it again! I always find myself either laughing till my stomach feels flat or sitting at the edge of my chair, reading the words off the pages like my life depends on it. It's exciting, funny, and adventurous. The myth that Riordan plays in his story is so complete and well thought out. You will not disappoint, in fact, you will be mind blown. It's not the old Percy Jackson myth but more like Thor and Loki kind of myth. However, it is nothing like the Marvel movie, that I guarantee.

This story is about Magus who dies but is still alive. (stay with me. It will only get more confusing) When a demigod dies, they go to this underworld hotel where they get to train and prepare for a battle between the Nine Worlds. Still wrapping around the fact that Magnus is dead, he has to find the sword that his father, who is a god that he just found out, gave away. He has to find it before evil does and he has to stop them from freeing the Wolf, strongest and terrifying wolf in the Nine Worlds.

From being a homeless kid to fighting three giants and saving Thor; Magnus not only made new loyal friends but also found himself. Even though everyone doubted on him and even a prophecy said he was not meant to be the one to save everyone or the hero of Nine Worlds, Magnus is determined to do what he feels right.

It's an amazing book and despite being on a quest that most likely will kill Magnus, he always finds a way to lighten things up. Riordan has a great sense of humor.

The Heart of Betrayal Book Review

The Heart of Betrayal

It's not everyday you get kidnapped by the man who killed your brothers and kept you alive just because you are gifted and have super powers.

In this book, Lia was taken away by her kingdom's sworn enemy, betrayed by Kaden, and now has to find a way to get out. In addition to all the mess she is in, she does not know whether she should trust Kaden, the man who she thought was protecting her but was assigned to kill her or the Rafe, the prince who lied to her.

Though she was held prisoner, Lia never gave up hope that she will one day be free. She now knows that Kaden will always be loyal to Venda and Venda will always be her enemy. Rafe on the other hand, risk all he had, his kingdom and his life to save Lia. Together, Lia and Rafe plan to escape but Komizar, the leader of Venda, is too cunning. Komizar would never let Lia walk out of his kingdom alive. Whiles Komizar is away, Lia gets the chance to explore the land of Venda and saw not loyalty in the people's eyes but fear. They fear Komizar, the soldiers and the Council. Lia wants to use those fear to her advantage. Will she win over the people and escape? Will she win the battle between her and Komizar with Kaden on his side? Will her power be a gift or a curse?

I think Pearson is trying to make me cry, I think she is, and yes, she succeed. The ending tho. ARGH! I CANNOT! HOW? WHAT? okay. Let's take a step back. The beginning of the story was exciting and dangerous. When you get to the middle, you feel as if it's your mission and your life is literally on the line. In the end, you will just *flipthetable . This book will definitely leave a deep scar in your memory and the feels man. ohh boyy. After I finished the book, I immediately checked on goodreads and there is a third book coming! Yay right? no! The book comes out on August! That is literally 8 months. 8 months of not knowing what will happen to Lia? After I have connected with her, feel for her and actually live in her mindset for 470 pages? NO !

You can tell it was a brutally amazing book. It is exciting, powerful, and fierce. Just read with caution, maybe lock you feels aside for a while.
