Dreamology

Dreamology

This book is the cutest love story I've ever read. It has multiple heartbreaks and point where I just want to pull my hair out but it was so sweet, so adorable, and utterly romantic in it's own way. The story carries a powerful vibe of love and relationship throughout the whole book and anyone can easily fall in love with it.

This book is about a girl, Alice, who had bad nightmares when she was a kid. After having some scanning and stuff, she got better. The nightmares become beautiful dreams. She dreams of a boy named Max. In her dreams, they would travel the world, do the impossible, and hold each other. It is only in her dream that she didn't feel lonely. The best part of her day is when she is dreaming of Max. When Alice moves from New York, she is enrolled in a new school. Starting over was hard but it gets harder when her dream Max is sitting in the same classroom as her. It nearly gave her a heart attack. How can someone in your dream be real? How can someone you knew so well in your dream feel like a stranger?

I cannot contain the amount of cuteness in this book nor can I count the number of times my heart threw glitter into the air. It was a very easy read and a very good story, one that everyone dream.

Bitter Sweet Love (The Dark Elements 0.5)

Bitter Sweet Love (The Dark Elements 0.5)

I'm a sucker for romance books right now but this book has a mix of fantasy in it which I surprisingly love. It's so beautifully written. The author knows how to lour you into her book and her words will swallow you up whole. Literally finished this book in an hour. It was so easy to read and definitely a page turner.

This book is about demons and gargoyles. The demons are evil and the gargoyles act as guards and protectors. Dez wasn't only Jas crush but her soul mate. They were in love for a long time but three years ago Dez left without reasons or goodbyes. After three years Dez came back and was going to mate with Jas (a gargoyle thing for wedding). Jas still loves him but felt betrayed that he left without telling her the truth. Before they get married, the two couple have to each say yes within 7 days. Jas took advantage of her seven days to decide but under some conditions, Dez has to take her away, travel the city, and kill a demon. It was dangerous but Dez agreed. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again.

All the feels:

Dez is so sweet and so loving while Jas is so strong, fierce and really stubborn. I think these two make a very cute couple. The storyline was beautiful and the ending will melt your heart.

Harry Potter and the Soccer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Soccer's Stone

Because I've watched the movie over a million times, I could literally remember each scene and words but reading it brings something different. I have never read the book before up until this week because I watched the movie and it spoiled everything for me. Despite that, it was still a good, easy read. No regrets.

I feel like the book was not a YA fiction but more of a children's book like Percy Jackson but I also understand that it is from Harry's point of view and he was only 11 years old so it made sense. J.K. Rowling has an amazing way of luring you into her woods of fantasy.

I have to admit, I did scan through most part of the book because I knew what was happening but there were parts in the book that was not in the movie and I did enjoy those too.

The characters in the movie represented the characters in the book so well. It was a really great easy read with many adventures of a body who did not only lived through the dark forces of magic but also found himself after being lost. Harry never knew who he was, why he was him, or what he was for until magic found him.

The Court of Thorns and Roses

The Court of Thorns and Roses

I am holding so much emotion right now. I have finals next week but I could not put this book down. It was unbelievable. Sarah's writing has a way to lure you into her little fingers and capture you to her land of fantasy. Once you are there, you do not even want to come back.

Feyre is a human that has hated Fairies all her life. Her mother died when she was young and she promised her mother to take care of her father and her two sisters. Since then, Feyre was the one who haunts and puts food on their plates. One day, Feyre killed a beastly wolf. It was a grand prize for her but a few nights after, another beast came for his revenge. He gave Feyre two choices, to live with him forever at his part of the land or to walk outside the door and be killed and torn to pieces. Feyre has a hard, stubborn soul and would not die so easily. She follows him but later discovers his was not just an ordinary fairy. Despite her hate towards faeries for wanting to kill all human kind, Feyre fell in love with Tamlin, the High Lord of the Faeries.

When she discovers that Tamlin was cursed and the only one who could save him was her, she risks everything, even her own life to cure the love of her life.

I love the bold characters. Feyre is stubborn, fierce, brave, and determine but also has a soft side to her soul. Tamlin is very mysterious but romantic, you can never really read what he is thinking and whatever he does is sort of unexpected. Dangerous and protective.

This love story reminds me of beauty and the beast and I've been craving this sort of dangerous love in a book for a long time. If you have not read this book, you probably should get started because it's amazing.

The Mask || Book Review

The Mask

She was the predator reborn, fully formed and ready to fight.

The Mask tells a story about a couple who are professional spy, killers, and hunters. They kill for a living. On one mission, Munroe and her boyfriend, Miles, went to Japan to uncover a large scandal. However, before Miles was able to finish his mission, he was accused to murder a Chinese women and got arrested. With Miles stuck in jail. Munroe has to find the real murderer whiles trying to stay alive.

This book has a lot of adventure, mystery, and CSI feel to it.Its funny how I recently learned about nonverbal in class and in this book, it emphasized a lot about gestures and posture that will give away a lie. I find Munroe to be a really strong character with so much determinations, will power, responsibility, and courage. It was fun to be in the "bad" guy mind space for the 300+ pages, not gonna lie. I got to kick asses and be a CSI for a day. This book also reminds me of the fantasy series, Thirst, largely because both books revolve around powerful women making changes.

Nonetheless, I think it's an exciting book. If you like Sherlock, CSI, Lie to Me, or Dr Foster then this book will scream to you.

Some strong lines that I've found in this book are:

  • Live in fear or die free
  • Yesterday's truth is today's lie, and tomorrow we will both be someone else.

Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Years in Japan || Book Review

Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Years in Japan

The title speaks for itself ! It was amazing I felt like i was in the book and I was gonna get killed. Sherlock was on a mission to save Japan from a group of terrorist. He was suppose to be "dead" but he fake it so that he could create and new identity.

However, on his journey to Japan, there was multiple murder and mysterious kills. They were all aiming at Sherlock and it made his journey very eventful. The only safe place, he figure, was with in the Japan emperor's palace.

This book took me on a adventurous and mysterious road that left a permanent imprint in my mind for days. I wish I could be as observant as Sherlock to say the truth. This book is both fun and exciting at the same time. Highly highly highly recommend !

Graceling || Book Review

Graceling Book Review

Pause, let me tell you something, I got this book at 9 am today and finished it at 3 pm. I literally inhale the whole book in one sitting. It is that good. I had not read something this beautiful since I read The Darkest Mind. Its very really and the world the author created is very complete.

This book is about a girl named Katsa who is a Grace. A Grace is basically someone who is born with abilities and powers. They eyes are also different color from one another so it was easy to tell who was a Grace. Katsa's grace was the ability to kill. She wasn't locked up or killed simple because her uncle was the king and he intend to use her for his wars and torturing anyone who displeased him. Katsa however was apart of this Council who helps people in need. She then met Prince Po. Everything changed. Po was from another kingdom and he was graced too. He was able to read mind and sense when someone was near him. Katsa saved Po's grandfather (who was an old royal king) that was kidnapped. Katsa went against her uncle and ran away with prince Po. Now, Po and Katsa has to find the kidnapper to know the reason of the kidnapping and in order for his grandfather to be safe again.

They travel to another kingdom and found out there was something wrong with their recent new king, Leck. Rumors tells that animals and young girls were scared and hurt without any reason. Soon the animals and the young girls would die with no explanations Po and Katsa then discovered that Leck was Graced too. He has the grace of fooling people, leading them to believe what he wants them to. Po and Katsa then had to save, Bitterblue, Leck's daughter, from her own cruel father that was hunting her to play his tricks with. In the end, Katsa was able to safe Princess Bitterblue but something happened to Po. Katsa had to leave Po behind and take Bitterblue to safe grounds.

Tho, safe grounds weren't safe. When they got to Po's castle, expecting a shelter and some protection, Leck got there first. Leck compelled  the whole castle that he was the new king. Things weren't going as planned. Katsa tried her best not to be in Leck Grace's maze. When Leck mentioned Po, she snapped, she pulled out her blade and threw it straight and strong at Leck. Leck died and the compulsion broke off. When Katsa went to find Po again, something was off. Po was blind. But thankfully for his Grace, he need not have to see, he has his grace to sense.

Angelfall || Book Review

Angel Fall Book Review

This book is about a girl, Penryn, who has been running and hiding all her life with her mother and little sister from angels. Now angels were suppose to be good but in this story, angel were only warriors who take orders from the Messenger, who took his orders from God. One day, Penryn saw an angel been attacked by other angels and his wings were cut off.. The other angels saw Penryn, her mother and her little sister. They ran but the angels were faster and so they captured her little sister. Penryn got slipped from her mother and she was horrified that her little sister, who was in fact in a wheel chair was taken away. He held the injured, wingless angel as hostage, demanding the angel, Raffe ,to tell her where they have taken her sister.

In this book, the angel was described as muscular, tall, strong and definitely good looking, no doubt your heart will flatter after reading. As said before, the angels only took orders from the messenger, because they trust him to have direct orders from God. But no one or no angel really had seen god. they just took orders and leave no questions on the table.

In the end, Pernyn did find her sister, along with hundred of kids the angels had kidnapped. It turns out, the angels were doing an experiment on them, turning them to something terrible. Penryn and her sister almost didnt make it our, surrounded but angels, but Raffe  got then out the rebellion came in time to save them, booming the angels' building and labs.

This story is too much of a fantasy to believe. Angels with labs, bars and hotels? it wasn't my kind of fantasy and I am not saying I hate it. I like it to certain level, would be a better phrase.

Little Seaside Trip

 Hello Beautiful People !

As I said, I was on holiday and now I'm back ! yay ! here's some picture !

My simple OTD

We started our road at 6 in the MORNING! Then we stop by a beach, had a stroll through some fish village. After that we had lunch which was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G
I don't know maybe its just me because I absolutely LOVEEEEEE seafood !

After a big lunch we went to a Chinese temple. It was said to bring good luck and it's massive!

And who goes to the seaside without having coconut ? I had TWO in fact ! I was bloated but it was soooo good.

Dinner was at a local restaurant. I don't know about any of you but whenever I said I will take pictures of the dishes, I started taking the first two or three then I forgot all about it. Diving myself into the food without taking any snaps. So sorry. But here is one good dish. hehe.

Here, This is called "Rojak" , which is basically mixed fruits with a very thick homemade sauce, some biscuits and nuts on top.

That is all for today ! Hope you enjoyed  it and hope it wasn't too boring.

I'm heading off to a massive book fair tomorrow. I am utterly excited ! I will post what I got and will do more book reviews tomorrow. I made a little video / vlog of my trip which you can see it up here. Thanks for reading !

Hugs and kisses.
