The Sky is Everywhere || Book Review

The Sky is Everywhere

I heard mix feeling of this and was definitely nervous to read this. Honestly, I did not like the book as much as I would love to. The story line was great but its just not good to me.I read like 75% of it and got bored. It is about a girl who's sister died and now she has to deal with life without her. She first felt  a connection between her sister's boyfriend, Troy which  I think was so wrong. Then she fell in love with a boy named Joe. Joe is a sweat heart but when Joe found out about her and Troy things went down hill. While she tried to fix what she had with Joe, she was also slowing building her mental strength which is to move on and let things go, for better or worst.

No much really as I said in the beginning, I would not purchase it tho but if it's from the library then sure you could give it a try and see if you like it and send me your thoughts of it on Twitter or Gmail.

Wonder || Book Review

Wonders by R.J. Palacio

This book buries a clear yet deep message. This book is funny, sad, happy and a all in one book. It definitely open my eyes to how big one heart can be. In this book, August was born dis formed. Since birth he had multiple surgeries but never get out a sigh. His family were super supportive and one day his mother wanted to send him to a real school as he has been home schooled ever since. At first August did not want to go, the fear of being judged. But all the reasons came through and he agreed to give it a try.

At first it was hard, he had people taking behind his back, avoid touching him like he had disease and even called him names. He ignored them and despite all the negative, he found the good in bad. He made some friends who were really nice and truly wanted to help him. Summer and Jack was always there for him and its so touching to see how the bundle together and make the best of every day. In the end, August made everyone realized who he truly is and what is underneath his skin, a funny, smart and kind boy who just wanted to be normal. August has the strength to not grant pity but the heart and souls of others just by being true to himself.

This book taught us a lot on how we should love ourselves despite what size, color and physical appearance. It also taught us that sometimes, being imperfect is enough and enough is perfect.

Delirium Series || Book Review

Delirium Book Series Book Review

I watched a short film of this book series and was dying to get my hands on it. I have to say I was not disappointed. It was definitely a good read.

This book is about a girl named Lena who trusted the government and wanted the cure, the cure to amor delirium (aka love delirium). Basically its like a "disease" that they believe you will get once you falling love, it makes you emotional, excited, sad, unrealistic and etc. so the government set a rule to give everyone a cure and they will be set up with their partner. Lena then met Alex. They fell in love and Lena did not want to get the cure. She ran away with Alex but the cops caught up to them. Alex asked her to run and she did, thinking he was behind her. When she got over the fence, she realized Alex was tied down, bleeding and caught.

Lena then lived in the Wild with her new friends, Raven and her group. The part of Lena died when Alex was caught. she though he was dead and some part of her wanted him to be because she couldn't bare what they will do to him alive. Lena and the group then planned a rebellion to go against the government. It was a hell of a ride. Lena then fell in love with Julian, the major's son who wasn't cured and escape to the Wild with Lena. When she thought she could start fresh again, Alex showed up. To add more to her problem, Lena found her mother who she thought was dead since she was young. Together, they fought the government for their right, for freedom, and for love.

This book is so planned out and beautiful written. You really get into the character's mind and feels what Lena is feeling. It has a clever way to drag you into the book and make you apart of it.

Angelfall || Book Review

Angel Fall Book Review

This book is about a girl, Penryn, who has been running and hiding all her life with her mother and little sister from angels. Now angels were suppose to be good but in this story, angel were only warriors who take orders from the Messenger, who took his orders from God. One day, Penryn saw an angel been attacked by other angels and his wings were cut off.. The other angels saw Penryn, her mother and her little sister. They ran but the angels were faster and so they captured her little sister. Penryn got slipped from her mother and she was horrified that her little sister, who was in fact in a wheel chair was taken away. He held the injured, wingless angel as hostage, demanding the angel, Raffe ,to tell her where they have taken her sister.

In this book, the angel was described as muscular, tall, strong and definitely good looking, no doubt your heart will flatter after reading. As said before, the angels only took orders from the messenger, because they trust him to have direct orders from God. But no one or no angel really had seen god. they just took orders and leave no questions on the table.

In the end, Pernyn did find her sister, along with hundred of kids the angels had kidnapped. It turns out, the angels were doing an experiment on them, turning them to something terrible. Penryn and her sister almost didnt make it our, surrounded but angels, but Raffe  got then out the rebellion came in time to save them, booming the angels' building and labs.

This story is too much of a fantasy to believe. Angels with labs, bars and hotels? it wasn't my kind of fantasy and I am not saying I hate it. I like it to certain level, would be a better phrase.

The Darkest Minds || Book Review

The Darkest Minds Book Review

Truly speaking, I have not gotten a good night sleep after finishing this book. This book is beautiful written and definitely had captured my heart.

This book is about a some sort of disease that only children had. But the way I see it, it's not a disease,but more of an ability. The kids was captured and brought to camps where they were tested and organized to groups depending on their abilities. There are Reds, Orange, Yellow, Blue and Greens. The Reds are the most "dangerous" one out of them which mean they are the most powerful ones. Oranges have the ability to control minds, make you think and feel the way they want you to. Yellows have the power of electricity and Blues can move stuff with just a blink of an eye while Greens are free from this "disease".

Theses kids didn't know anything about what the government was going to do to them and they have absolutely no clue of their abilities till they discovered them themselves. In this book, Ruby was taken away after her tenth birthday. She was scared but she had no one to turn to because the adults were terrified of their own child. The government took her to a camp where they did test on her and also the other kids. She was scared of what the results were to be so she told the doctor she was Green. Surprisingly he believed her and walked away. Soon she discovered her ability. Not only she can make others think and feel the way she wanted but she can also erase their memories. Once, Ruby accidentally erased her friend, Sam's memory of her and since then she lost her only friend in the camp.

Soon after, she broke out of the camp with a help of a doctor, Dr. Cate. Cate didn't do it for free however. Cate wanted Ruby to help her form an Army of Orange and go against the government. At first Ruby thought Cate was there to help her and the other kids till she met Liam. Liam told her that no organization is ever going to help the kids, the only way to survive is to help yourself. So Ruby escape from Cate and went along with Liam and his two other friend, Zu and Chubs. Liam and Chubs was a Blue and Zu was a Yellow. Ruby told them that she was Green because she herself did not want to admit her abilities after seeing what happened to her friend, Sam.

After weeks of running and hiding, they found a safe ground. But was it really safe? The main organizer,Clancy was an Orange and was also the President's son. Clancy  promised Ruby to help her with her powers and Ruby felt drawn to him but soon after, she question the feeling she had between Clancy and with Liam. She knew Clancy was playing with her mind and so did Liam. They planned to run away with Chubs but the evil found his way. Clancy caught them and locked them up. However in the end, Ruby use her powers over Clancy. Clancy send the Red for her but the government caught up.

SPOILER ALERT

In the end, Clubs was brought to the hospital after been beaten up and Liam and Ruby was recapture by Cate. Ruby knew Liam would be hurt and killed with Cate around. They will use Liam as a tool to manipulate her so she made a deal with Cate. Cate has to promise not to harm Liam and set him free or Ruby will play with her little brain till every last of her regret the day she lay her hands on Liam. Her love for Liam was real and Liam loved her equally as much. Ruby visited Liam in his cell and they talked about their future together, creating a story line of how they want and wish things should be. Ruby finished their happy ever after with a kiss but with one kiss, Ruby erased Liam's memory of her. And when she pulled away, she was just another stranger in his eyes. Ruby was broken but she knew she had to, for Liam.

SPOILER ALERT

This book shows the strength, the power and the courage of a sixteen year old girl who had never fell in love so deeply in her life that she had to let him go. Her character was clever, fast thinker and also humble. She never wanted or intended to hurt anyone from the beginning of the story, but she knew she couldn't save every soul, so in the end, she let her soul die but her love one's live.

A Little Girl's Story

Hello Beautiful People

Today, I'm sharing a story with you. There was once a little chubby girl who did not know and have completely no idea that she would grow up to what she had become; anxious, depressed and insecure. She used to be able to laugh her heart out, not care what people say about her and eat as much as she like. This girl grew up and got bullied. Not physically but emotionally and mentally. She was called dump, fat, bitch, not good enough, ugly and even worthless. At first she ignored the criticism; push away the judgement. Until one day, she had enough. She couldn't take it anymore and decided to listen to the judgement. She believed that she was fat, dump, not good enough and worthless. She believed what others said to her but then slowly, it wasn't just what other said, it was what her demon inside her said. The demon was praying on her slowly day by day. Eating away her humanity, her self-preservation and her love for herself. Days went on and she started hating her self more and more; thinking why cant she be skinny, or smart or just a little pinch more worthy. She started to believe the demon and the demon slowly took over her heart and soul.
She counted calories and ate 900+ calories a day, she exercised 5 hours a day, studied all the time, and tried to be perfect. She believed that no one is perfect and everyone is beautiful but she just could not convince herself that she was one of the beautiful imperfect people too. She tried, but the demon taught her otherwise.

Until a day came that she decided enough was enough. She missed the old chubby girl she used to be and wanted to live. She gathered her courage and talked to her parents. Her parents did not understand her at first and was judgmental. She knew that she had to recover but no one was there to help. No one was there to tell her that eating this few calories can literally kill you, no one was there to guide her out of the dark. no one was there to scoop her out of the demon's hand. She got worst. She dropped weight but she still thinks she wasn't good enough or thin enough. So she went on dieting. She would run for and hour and half everyday, eat fewer calories each day and study still her brain literally freezes. She could not find the energy to move most of the days because she was giving up on eating, on life. Still, the demon screamed at her saying she wasn't good enough. Her parents came by and saw what really was going on. They begged her to go back to the chubby little girl she once were but little did they know that it wasn't that easy. It's not like a wound you can heal after placing a bandage. It's not a broken furniture you can fix with a hammer. It's a mental issue where you have to kill the demon inside you and the only way to do that is by time. The girl needed time but her parents didn't want to give her that much. They still think it was just a sickness you can get better after medication and a kiss at the scar.

The girl gave up explaining to the world. She got into recovery herself and she met friends online who was helpful. She was strong but the demon in her was stronger. She fell back two steps again when she got up one. When her parents finally got to understand fully what was happening, it was too late. The demon scared the girl deeply and was living in her. She was slowly turning to the demon. Hot tempered, selfish, and stubborn. Her parents helped the girl to fight a battle that the girl could not done so herself. But the truth is, the only way to recover is if the girl was willing to accept. Her parents, family and friends can only be her shield while she holds the sword. After a year of tears, blood and a hell lot of downs then ups, the girl got her weight back. She was finally finding life and living it. She was finally understanding the beauty of being imperfect.

That little girl was me. I used to have eating disorder, anorexic, and constantly have anxiety. I got through it and admit that it was 100% not easy. I have seem many people suffering the same thing and went on the wrong way to end their pain while others got through the storm. I am not sure I have recovered fully, I still get anxiety, I still get nervous when having too much food, I still suffer when I could not work out when given a chance to. But I am fighting, I am fighting every single day not to go back  to the demon's home. It's a dark and scary place. I'm sharing this not because I want pity. I'm sharing this partly because I don't want to hide my problems anymore, everyone had problems and it's okay. Partly also because I want some of you out there who may be suffering from body image, bully or eating disorder that there is still hope and the storm will pass. I may not be the best person to ask for advice or guidance but I promise I can and will be there for any of you who wants to talk or long for just a silent listener. My mail is always open.

Thanks for reading this awful long post. To all of you, when you are down, just Stand Up, Chin Up, and Smile. You are the best that you can be and no body can be better of being you then you yourself.

hugs and kisses.
