Top 5 Myth from Childhood

Hello Beautiful People!

Do you remember some of the things we 90s kids do as a believe? Here are some top 5 myth that we thought were or still is true.

1. Counting 1 to 100 when we can't fall asleep.

I remember when I just could not go to bed, my dad would ask me to count 1-100. But guys, the thing is, it doesn't work this way. Sleeping was meant for our brains to rest and shut down from thinking after the whole day of work. Yes I know there is REMS and Dream modes but those come naturally, when you count 1 to 100, then you are basically forcing your brain to think and come up with the next number. The reason why we do fall asleep after counting is because you give up and just decide to shut your eyes and go to bed. End of story.

2. You use your whole brain

I have read that if you are right handed, you use your left brain, and if you're left handed you use your right brain. Its not true! Every part of your brain works. Its just that when doing different activities, different parts of your brain get trigger to function. Say if you are walking, the center of your brain functions. When you are seeing things, the front part of your brain awakes. When you are memorizing stuff, your right side of the brain moves it's gear. So we do use all of our brains, congratulation !

3. Counting till ten will calm you down when you are angry at someone.

When you are angry, just be angry, counting till ten just make you feel annoyed and eventually over power the anger emotions. But psychologically, it doesn't work. We human are meant to feel things. Let say you are happy, you don't count to ten to stop being happen so why do you want ti count to ten when angry? Be angry and be what your mind whats to feel. The more you go against it the more you will think about it and the more you over think it. So stop counting to 10, you will just annoy your brain.

4. Dropping a penny from a tall building will kill someone.

If you were to head to the top of the Empire State Building and fling a penny down to the sidewalk below, it won’t kill anyone. Pennies are fairly lightweight at around one gram and being a flat circle doesn't bode well in terms of aerodynamics.

5. It takes seven years to digest swallowed chewing gum.

Chewing gum does not take seven years to digest. In fact, you don’t even digest it at all. Aside from a small amount of sweeteners and flavorings, there’s really not a lot inside the gum that the human body can actually break down and use. The bulk of gum is made out of rubbery polymers known as elastomers along with glycerin and vegetable oil-based ingredients to keep the gum soft and moist. Once the body has extracted what little it can from the gum, the rest is passed along as waste, just like anything else. However, that doesn't mean swallowing gum is a great idea. Swallowing large amounts of gum can cause constipation and gastrointestinal blockage that needs to be removed by a physician.

I hope you find this interesting and fun because it was sure to know the sad truth that we have had been believing. Hope you enjoy and thanks for reading !

Hugs and kisses.

Food for Healthy Hair Growth || Healthy Eats

Hello Beautiful People !

I have been struggling with hair lost and thinning of hair for the past year and I finally put a stop to it. By eating healthy, my hair has grown so much thicker and the amount of hair lost has definitely reduced.
Here are the few super food I found that helped a lot in hair growth:

  • Salmon
  • Walnut
  • egg
  • sweet potato
  • yogurt
  • blueberry
  • kiwi
  • pumpkin seeds
  • Cashew
  • Hazelnut

Note: Zinc is important in your diet for a healthy long thick hair but in order for our body to consume and absorb all the zinc is if you have enough Vitamin C. So eat up some vitamin C food like oranges, papaya, leafy green vegetables, kiwi and my favorite broccoli !

Treating Under Eye Dark Circles || Beauty Bites

Hello Beautiful People !

know you all have been working late and studying hard so give yourself a pad on the back now. People always says if you work hard for it, you will get double in return. Well it is true but it also mean double trouble for our under eyes circles. I have been struggling with under eye circles for far too long and I am putting my foot down. I know it will not get rid of it 100 % but I am determined to reduce them and also prevent future ones.

So here are some tips and tricks I've learnt about under eye circles and how to get rid of them. Don't worry ladies, I got your back.

Now the most important thing, it may seem boring and obvious is SLEEP! I don't care if I have an important meeting or a test tomorrow, I will always make sure I get plenty of sleep (8 hours). Also another true but boring fact is to drink lots of water. I drink around 2.5-3.0 liters a day and I have definitely seen some lightening under my eyes.

Now that we are done with the important but boring truth, here are some things you may or may not know that could also help reduce under eye circles :

1. High Vitamin K food

  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Beet Greens
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Parsley
  • Spring Onions
  • Chili
  • Asparagus
  • Cucumber
  • Soy Beans
  • Olive Oil
  • Prunes

2. High Vitamin B12

  • Clams and Crabs
  • Mackerel Fish
  • Tofu
  • All bran
  • Red meat
  • Low fat milk
  • Feta cheese and Mozzarella Cheese
  • Sardines
  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Eggs
  • Yogurt

3. Avoid caffeine as much as possible

4. Stop smoking and always apply a sunscreen around the eye area. Smoking and exposure to UV rays both weaken collagen and cause premature wrinkling and sagging.

5. Increase amount of fruits in your diet example mangoes, bananas and oranges

6. Apply a moisturizer to the eye area nightly

7. Carrots are your bae for treating under eye dark circles.

Tip #1 : To reduce dark circles, place brewed and cooled teabags over the eyes for 15 minutes. Green tea bags may work better than black or herbal tea bags because green tea contains a natural anti-inflammatory chemical, EGCG, which can reduce puffiness. The caffeine in tea bags also works as a diuretic that pulls fluid from the eye sockets and reduces puffiness.

Tip #2 : Put a wet spoon in the fridge for a few hours, when it's cold. Place it on your eye bags and let it rest for a few minutes. Make sure you close your eyes. Leaving two moist green or chamomile tea bags in the fridge overnight, then applying them directly to your eyes for 15 minutes first thing in the morning works wonders too.

Tip #3 : Instead of putting on cucumber slices, you could also use POTATO SLICES (whatttt?) You can use a potato circles for the same purpose (or mix a cucumber and a potato paste together). Use it applying the same principle as described above. This treatment is all natural and very effective in treating under eyes dark circles.

How to Choose Blushes Suiting Your Skin Tone || Beauty Bites

Hello, Beautiful People!

Now blushes are one of my essentials ! Without them I could look really nude and "undone". So as I did for the eyeliners, I went and search for help. Did you know that blushes can actually make your face look slimmer? I am going to categorize skin tones in three major :

  • Fair
  • Medium
  • Dark

Fair Skin

It is recommended to have a lighter shade, example Pink, Peach-Pink, Light Coral, and Rose. Also to apply highlights on top of the blush to make you face sharp and slim but still fresh and pretty.

Recommended :
  1. Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal
  2. Nars Blush in Orgasm
  3. Pink Shade: NYX Blush – Natural
  4. Peach Shade: Nars Blush – Orgasm

Medium Skin

Medium skin is easy. they have a really wide range and are easily bendable to the colors. The best blushes for medium skin toned ladies are rosey pink and deep peaches. If you choose a color that is to light it can make you look ashen, anything to dark will make you look clownish.

Recommended :
  1. Nars The Multiple in South Beach
  2. L'Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Spiced Plum
  3. NYX Stick Blush in Water Lily
  4. Tarte Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride
  5. Smashbox Blush Rush in Radiance
  6. Peach Shade: Tarte Blush – Tipsy
  7. Pink Shade: NYX Blush – Mocha

Dark Skin

For your skin, choose colors from rose to deep oranges. Choosing a shade that is to light will make your skin appear washed out and pale. You want to enhance the natural beauty of your skin. For cheek highlighting using a gold color is stunning. Using a champagne color will look to frosty against the skin.

Recommended:
  1. Maybelline Master Glaze by Face Studio Glisten Blush Stick in Make a Mauve
  2. Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Blush in #1
  3. Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef
  4. Peach Shade: NYX Blush – Cinnamon
  5. ink Shade: Tarte Blush – Amused
Hope this helps ! More Beauty Bits soon !

Type of Eyeliners and their Pro and Cons || Beauty Bites

Hello Beautiful People !

Have you ever purchased an eyeliner but didn't work well as you expected?
Have you ever walked into a store and did not know which eyeliner you would prefer?

*raise hand* I know I have.

I have been around asking and interviewing some profession asking their opinion on eyeliners. So sit back and relax because I am going to sort out all your doubts and questions. Now there are three major types of eyeliners :

  1. i.  Liquid Eyeliner
  2. ii. Gel Eyeliner
  3. iii. Pencil Eyeliner

Liquid Eyeliner

Now, I personally love liquid eyeliner, i think they are fast, easy and does the job. The one I recommend is the Maybelline Masterline liquid eyeliner, which I adore much deeply. However, not everyone's taste is the same so here is what the liquid eyeliner can do :-

  • a. easy to control
  • b. once on, it will not fade out until makeup remover is applied.
  • c. bold
  • d. easy to apply cat eyes
  • e. makes eyelashes looks thicker #bonus

What I would say is a downer for liquid eyeliners is that you cannot do a smoky, smudged eye effect if you are looking for one.

Gel Eyeliners

To be honest, I have tried many gel eyeliners but still could not find what I was looking for, so if you have any recommendations, please do leave a comment or tweet me! Gel eyeliner is said to be a All-in-One thing. Why?

  1. It can do cat eye
  2. It can be smudged and make a smoky effect
  3. It is precised
  4. It is creamy
  5. easy to apply

Foe a great eyeliner like this required lots and lots of practice and good quality gel eyeliner. It is also a tiny bit troublesome to carry it while traveling as you have to squeeze in another angled brush for the eyeliner.

Pencil Eyeliner

This is the most commonly used eyeliner in the beauty industry because

  1. easy to carry
  2. easy to apply and control
  3. easy to find in all make up brands
  4. dry to a long lasting finish
  5. softer look

The only thing I would complain about it is that, if you do not sharpen this bad boy up, you will end up looking like a panda. #nojoke So if you ever decided to buy a pencil eyeliner, make sure you get a sharpener too and sharpen it every time!

Nail Polish that Suits Your Skin Tone || Beauty Bites

Guys I have been obsess with nail polish lately but I notice not all color looks good on me which is such a struggle ! So I went and check online and also ask some professionals' advice.

Here are the results ! :

Fair Complexions
  • Shades that flatter:
Beige, white and silver, light and medium toned purples, soft oranges, reds and berry shades.
  • Shades to avoid:
Very dark blue, black, green, dark orange, gold. (they make you nails and fingers big and no one wants        a huge finger.)

Medium/Olive Complexions
  • Shades that flatter:
Olive: peach or gold colors. Olive-medium: brown, reddish-browns, gold.
    Medium-dark:
  • Shades that flatter:
Vibrant orange, pink and blue, light blue, lilac, silver, metallic and glittery colors.
  • Shades to avoid:
Dark purple, red or navy blue. Bronze colors won’t show well against your skin tone.

Tan Complexions
  • Shades that flatter:
Light blues, pinks and purples, tangerine, light brown, copper brown and chocolate.
  • Shades to avoid:
Gold and shades of gold (because it will blend in with the tanned skin and lose vibrancy).

Hope this helps some of you out there ! ]

Type of Blood can Determine Your Personalities !

Hello Beautiful People !

So today's post will be slightly different. I went for a blood test today and was wondering why and how blood can determine everything so I went online and checked. Guess what I found !? You blood that is running in your veins right now can actually determined your personalities.

So here are the list by Blood Groups :

Blood Type A

Best Traits: Conservative, introverted, reserved, patient and punctual. Perfectionists.
Worst Traits: Obsessive, stubborn, self conscious and uptight
Blood Type A – Tend to be cooperative, sensitive, clever, passionate and smart. Often bottling up anxiety in order to get along with others, they may hold in their emotions until they explode. Many are tense, impatient and unable to sleep well. While they are capable of leadership positions, they may not take them because the stress is not good for their tightly wired systems

Blood Type B

Best Traits: Creative, passionate, animal loving, optimistic, flexible and individualistic.
Worst Traits: Forgetful, irresponsible, and self-centered.
Blood Type B – Blood type B individuals tend to be balanced: thoughtful like A’s and yet ambitious like O’s. They are empathetic, easily understanding others’ points of view, yet often hesitating to challenge or confront. Chameleon-like and flexible, they make good friends.

Blood Type AB

Best Traits: Cool, controlled, rational, introverted and empathic.
Worst Traits: Aloof, critical, indecisive and unforgiving.
Blood Type AB – Tend to be very charming and popular. They don’t sweat the small stuff and can be seen as spiritual and even at times a bit “flaky”. There is never a dull moment in a AB’s life, so if you find one for a friend, consider yourself lucky! You'll enjoy some exciting times together! Like blood type A’s, AB’s react to stress poorly. They are stronger and more active than type A’s, but need to pay attention to stress levels so that they don’t compromise their immunity.

Blood Type O

Best Traits: Ambitious, athletic, robust and self-confident. Natural leaders.
Worst Traits: Arrogant, vain, insensitive and ruthless.
Blood Type O – Tend to be loners or leaders and are intuitive, focused, self-reliant and daring. They handle stress better than other blood types and have strong immune systems, a well developed physique and a physically active nature. Blood type O’s tend to have sluggish blood flow and feel better with vigorous exercise for about an hour each day.
So what’s your blood type? Do you think it’s true?

Hope you get enough knowledge as I did today !
Hugs and kisses
