Treating Under Eye Dark Circles || Beauty Bites

Hello Beautiful People !

know you all have been working late and studying hard so give yourself a pad on the back now. People always says if you work hard for it, you will get double in return. Well it is true but it also mean double trouble for our under eyes circles. I have been struggling with under eye circles for far too long and I am putting my foot down. I know it will not get rid of it 100 % but I am determined to reduce them and also prevent future ones.

So here are some tips and tricks I've learnt about under eye circles and how to get rid of them. Don't worry ladies, I got your back.

Now the most important thing, it may seem boring and obvious is SLEEP! I don't care if I have an important meeting or a test tomorrow, I will always make sure I get plenty of sleep (8 hours). Also another true but boring fact is to drink lots of water. I drink around 2.5-3.0 liters a day and I have definitely seen some lightening under my eyes.

Now that we are done with the important but boring truth, here are some things you may or may not know that could also help reduce under eye circles :

1. High Vitamin K food

  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Beet Greens
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Parsley
  • Spring Onions
  • Chili
  • Asparagus
  • Cucumber
  • Soy Beans
  • Olive Oil
  • Prunes

2. High Vitamin B12

  • Clams and Crabs
  • Mackerel Fish
  • Tofu
  • All bran
  • Red meat
  • Low fat milk
  • Feta cheese and Mozzarella Cheese
  • Sardines
  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Eggs
  • Yogurt

3. Avoid caffeine as much as possible

4. Stop smoking and always apply a sunscreen around the eye area. Smoking and exposure to UV rays both weaken collagen and cause premature wrinkling and sagging.

5. Increase amount of fruits in your diet example mangoes, bananas and oranges

6. Apply a moisturizer to the eye area nightly

7. Carrots are your bae for treating under eye dark circles.

Tip #1 : To reduce dark circles, place brewed and cooled teabags over the eyes for 15 minutes. Green tea bags may work better than black or herbal tea bags because green tea contains a natural anti-inflammatory chemical, EGCG, which can reduce puffiness. The caffeine in tea bags also works as a diuretic that pulls fluid from the eye sockets and reduces puffiness.

Tip #2 : Put a wet spoon in the fridge for a few hours, when it's cold. Place it on your eye bags and let it rest for a few minutes. Make sure you close your eyes. Leaving two moist green or chamomile tea bags in the fridge overnight, then applying them directly to your eyes for 15 minutes first thing in the morning works wonders too.

Tip #3 : Instead of putting on cucumber slices, you could also use POTATO SLICES (whatttt?) You can use a potato circles for the same purpose (or mix a cucumber and a potato paste together). Use it applying the same principle as described above. This treatment is all natural and very effective in treating under eyes dark circles.
