Human Acts

Human Acts

Firstly, I love the cover and secondly, I love the design of the pages. They look like old journal and have a very vintage feel to them. This book is very interesting and I can't want to finish the rest of the book. I got the book yesterday and I am already half way thought. It has the thrill and the mystery that is both very creepy but exciting. I have been watching a lot of Korean drama this past winter break and have been loving them. Now, I get to read a book from a South Korea author. #blessed I simply cannot summarize the whole book without giving away spoilers and I just can't do it because it's such a complicated book that just summarizing it would be doing it injustice. So I will let Goodreads do it for you:

In the midst of a violent student uprising in South Korea, a young boy named Dong-ho is shockingly killed.

The story of this tragic episode unfolds in a sequence of interconnected chapters as the victims and the bereaved encounter suppression, denial, and the echoing agony of the massacre. From Dong-ho's best friend who meets his own fateful end; to an editor struggling against censorship; to a prisoner and a factory worker, each suffering from traumatic memories; and to Dong-ho's own grief-stricken mother; and through their collective heartbreak and acts of hope is the tale of a brutalized people in search of a voice.

An award-winning, controversial bestseller, Human Acts is a timeless, pointillist portrait of an historic event with reverberations still being felt today, by turns tracing the harsh reality of oppression and the resounding, extraordinary poetry of humanity.

Shadowhunter Season 2

Thoughts on Shadowhunter Season 2 on Freeform

I think this season will be far better than the fist one and I hope it is becasue the Shadowhunter world is amazing and I would love to see it unfold.

I think Kat is becoming Clare every moment. I think the first season, she was more detached and didn't understand the character Clare enough but in this first episode of season two, I saw how natural it was for her to be Clare, as if she understood Clare enough that she has become Clare. Jace was still a little off to be honest and I can't get over Simon's humor. He is my buddy. Would love to see more Simon and Izzy romance. Malec was okay-ish. I won't saw I can't feel the chemistry, I can, but it feels a little weird. The scrip writer should pay more attention to how natural the lines sound instead of how nice it would sound because the lines are amazing and touching when read but when the actors said it , it sound't as if they are reading off of a poetry book.

If you have not watch or read about the shadowhunter, then grab your sword and jump into the portal because this is a world is a ride.

Wake Up to the Joy

Wake Up to the Joy

"You are real."

It takes a lifetime to discover who you are and be happy within yourself.

This book has definitely opened my mind to everything. I begin to see things from a further perspective and looking at things in a bigger picture. This book also teaches us how we can meditate. I have been following meditation videos online but never really accomplish it because my mind in constantly consumed by thoughts. This book addressed how we can meditate anywhere and meditation is not about doing it right but feeling right. When you feel at peace with your soul, you are meditating. This book is amazing and it came right in time for 2017. This year, don't wish for fame, wealth, or beauty. Don't wish for big cars or houses. Wish for more love and less hate, for hunger to stop, and for a better you.

The most difficult battle is not ones between men but between our mind and our soul. Your body is not the battlefield for the war in your head. When you free your mind, you will find the joy of being you.
