Near Enemy || Book Review

Near Enemy

This book is nothing what you can imagine ! Its dream in a dream, literally

Its a sci-fic fantasy world where people could escape into a limp while their bodies are sleeping in the real world. Things were doing just fine until someone was killed in the limp. And that may not seem like a big deal but bare in mind the number one law of the limp is, no one dies. Its basically a dream and you cant die in your dream. So, they have to fine out who that has been doing the killing and why. This crazy adventure the author takes you, along with the characters, will pull you out of your seats each time.

This book was out of the ordinary. It was different and after the second chapter, I fell in love with it. The excitement and mystery are unless ! When you dive into this book, there is no way you can put it down without thinking of it. Even in your sleep you will be wondering about it. That, my friend, is a sign of a good, well written book.

Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Years in Japan || Book Review

Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Years in Japan

The title speaks for itself ! It was amazing I felt like i was in the book and I was gonna get killed. Sherlock was on a mission to save Japan from a group of terrorist. He was suppose to be "dead" but he fake it so that he could create and new identity.

However, on his journey to Japan, there was multiple murder and mysterious kills. They were all aiming at Sherlock and it made his journey very eventful. The only safe place, he figure, was with in the Japan emperor's palace.

This book took me on a adventurous and mysterious road that left a permanent imprint in my mind for days. I wish I could be as observant as Sherlock to say the truth. This book is both fun and exciting at the same time. Highly highly highly recommend !

10 Ways to Manage Anxiety

10 Ways to Manage Anxiety

1. Write down what makes you worry how you feel.
2. Take a time-out.

3. Practice yoga, listen to music, meditate, get a massage, or learn relaxation techniques. Stepping back from the problem helps clear your head.

4. Eat well-balanced meals. Do not skip any meals. Do keep healthful, energy-boosting snacks on hand.

5. Do your best. Instead of aiming for perfection, which isn't possible, be proud of however close you get. Accept that you cannot control everything. Put your stress in perspective and ask yourselves if it would be a worry tomorrow? If not then why worry it now?

6. Talk to someone. Tell friends and family you’re feeling overwhelmed, and let them know how they can help you. Talk to a physician or therapist for professional help.

7. "Get it together girl." I keep telling myself that over and over till I calm down and get myself together.

8. "It could be worst" I like to remind myself that more unfortunate things could happen but it didn't so I should be grateful, not anxious.

9.  Read a book.

10. Smile to yourself even if it is hard, just force a smile and you will truly feel slightly better.

A Fireproof Home For the Bride || Book Review

A Fireproof Home For the Bride

She is a brave, strong girl but was born in the wrong time, in the wrong century. Emmy is a Lutheran, she knew her faith that in the future, she would get married to the boy in town and be a lovely wife with 4 children. But she knows and believes that she is more then that. After discovering the buried truth of her family and her religion, she was more keen to dig up the towns' mystery. The truth burns her soul with hot ice flame.

While she was meant to be married to a guy whom she had known all her life, she fell in love with a Catholic boy who was rich and utterly good looking. Because he was Catholic, it was against her religious believe and her family's legacy.

As she discover more and more truth, it was like one small cut after another, bleeding out her thicken skin. All of the things she thought was true and the people whom she though she knew deeply, turned to be a lie.

I really enjoyed this book. It is quite old century but it emphasize the strength and independent of a young girl who had nothing and no one to believe in her but herself. She believed that she could so she did. It was both motivational and inspirational.

Midnight Thief || Book Review

Midnight Thief

She's a professional thief. She could get in and out with no trace, without any sign. One thing she cant do is kill. But life isn't always what we wanted. When she was short on money, Kyra had to find a way to survive. This is where James came along. He was a leader of the Assassin Guild and wanted to hire Kyra to map the palace. Knowing it was dangerous but was temped by the price, Kyra agreed. Kyra did not know why James was obsess with the Palace but it wasn't  her job to find out. Her job was to get in, get the goods and get out.

She mapped the Palace, stole some rubies and herbs for the clan. One day when they were going to steal again, a guard was at the wrong place and the wrong time. Panic, Kyra made her first kill. It wasn't just the guilt she felt when watching the blood dripping out of the man and in her palms, it was something strong inside of her that smacked her right in the gut.

She ran and ran and left the Assassin Guild. She broke the agreement with James and eventually made them her enemy. Once they were no longer allies, James were a thread. Kyra wanted to know why James was so interested in the Palace. So she spy on the Palace and James for days. Carelessly, she got caught. She was taken and questioned by a knight, Tristam. When the Council knew that the Assassin Guild was on the move, they wanted to dig up information and plan war against them.

The Assassin Guild were killers but they also had allies with dark magic. There were stories once told that a beast could walked in men form and that they would eat raw flesh, capturing women and children at night. Kyra believed that the reason why the Assassins Guild got so strong was because they had the beast as allies. Tristam, too believe so.

Both of them worked together to solve this unless mystery that haunted the whole Palace. In the end, they all knew one thing, to end the Assassin Guild, they have to attack the center. And that was to kill James. but the thing was, Kyra was the only one who could do so.

Kyra spied on James one night and over heard him talking to the beast in form of men. It terrified her but a part of her felt connected. When James won over Kyra in a fight, the beast took Kyra. She thought she would die but when she woke up, the beast was healing her. It was then she realized and learnt that she was one of them.

When Tristam heard that Kyra was taken he went against his order and search for her. The beasts saw him as a thread and planned to traid him to James in return for goods. Knowing it would be a sentence of death, Kyra helped Tristam escape. Kyra had a dilemma of helping Tristam and to betray her own kind. But she was too human to see Tristam die, not when he sacrificed to come save her. When James came to trade, Kyra spotted his trick. James poisoned the Breasts' leader. So Kyra challenge him in a fight. She won over him this time because her beast self grew stronger.

Kyra knew she could run away from the mess she created in the Palace but she also knew it wound be wrong. So she went back and face her faith, as a human and half a beast.

I would say this book reminded me of The Throne of Glass. It was a really satisfying read. The adventure and the twist of magical creature. The excitement and suspense. It was a whole package. I really liked Kyra, the character, as she was strong, bold and naive. She makes mistakes but she accepted her mistakes and moved on. If you liked the Throne of Glass, you will definitely love this one.
