The Young Elites || Book Review

The Young Elites Book Review

A dangerous love and a bitter truth under a mask of bare naked scars.

Adelina Amouterou is a malfetto; she is marked and ostracized by her community for surviving a virus that made so many others perish before her. She is marked in more ways than one– she lost her eye to the virus, and her hair turned shock white. But, she is not alone. Many others who were sick are marked too and some of them are gifted with supernatural abilities, powers. They are the Young Elites. Adeline never discovered her power until the day she was sentenced to die. As she joined the Young Elites and she discovered her deepest self and her hidden darkness. Slowly, the darkness inside of her betrayed her to become someone she is not.

It was a blooming amazing, tale twister, and a satisfying good read ! I am craving for more and for the next sequence now. It consists of all the elements that you dig for in a fantasy/fiction story: romance, betrayal, thriller, sacrifices and power. The way Marie Lu tells the story and puts the world she created into words can make you speechless. Maybe she is a malfetto too, gifted with talents.

Four || Book Review

Four Book Review

You know the feeling when you connect to the characters in the book, you become part of them as they dwell closer to your soul? You know when you end a book, it's like saying goodbye to a friend because you will never know what will happen to them after the 'the end'? It has been two years since I've read Divergent and yesterday, I picked up this book and started reading it. I fell right into my feelings again. The connection slowly sparks as pages turn. It's like memories being replay but with new memories added on.

Four was an amazing book. It tells the story of Tobias before he met Tris. You get see his point of view as well as his thoughts and feeling; his pain behind his strength and his love behind his hate. This book was nicely written and connects perfectly with the Divergent series. When he met Tris, all the feels were rushing through my veins. I was on the edge of my seat, falling in love with the way they fall in love. Tobias makes me feel safe and when I read this book, I understand him more then I did when I read Allegiant. It was a magical book full of history, action, romance, and strength. The chemistry between the characters in this book was amazing and brutally unforgettable.

Those Girls || Book Review

Those Girls by Chevy Stevens

This book is brutally unforgettable. It has all the elements you crave in a thriller book: evil, mysterious, horror, and desperation. What makes the book shine was the sister bond the author created.

Dani, Courtney and Jess Campbell grew up in a farm. Their mother died and they are left with their alcoholic father. One day, their father comes home drunk and starts to abuse them. Their father started to hit Courtney and was about to drown her in the toilet. Jess held a gun in her hand and has to make a choice between her father and her sister Courtney.

The buried the body and ran away as fast as they could. They drove and drove out of the farm, out of the town and out of their old life.

Then suddenly their car broke down and some boys came to offer help. The girls knew they were trouble but they had no choice, they were stuck. And trouble was what the boys were. They tricked the girls, hurt them, torture them, and raped them. This part was really scary but that fear is what drives you to not stop reading !

The girls finally got out. They escaped to another town where they found hope. A glimpse of hope to start all over. They worked two to three jobs, and never talked about the past. Weeks past and Jess had not had her period. She became suspicious and went for a pregnancy test. The bar was blue. She panic and her sisters did too. It was too late for abortion. Can they raise the child even though they can't even guarantee their own three meals? Will the child look like her bloody baster father? What happens if the child finds out about the father or worst, what happens if the father finds out about the child?

Finding Audrey || Book Review

Finding Audrey Book Review

Let me just put something out there :

1. I just finished my spring semester and I am so excited to travel for summer.

2. After getting back home at 8 pm from my long day of finals, I decided to read Finding Audrey which was sent to me by the publisher. (however, these are all my opinion, not sponsored.)

3. I finished the book in one sitting and when I looked up at the time, it was 1:00 am.

This book was sweet, funny, and very entertaining. It's about a girl named Audrey, who developed an anxiety disorder. She would wear black glasses, stay home every day and when someone speaks to her, she panics, and runs away. Yes I know all of us get nervous around people we don't know but hers became a serious matter, till a boy name Linus, her brother's friend came along and helped her. The challenges they faced and the risk they were willing to take in order for Audrey to jump over the bridge of being anxious around people was interesting and fun. The author did an amazing job in describing the characters as well as the atmosphere. This allows the readers to feel connected to the story as well as the character themselves- like they are a part of the story, a part of Audrey. The book isn't revolved around Aubrey only, it also touches on family matters, teen crisis and friendship which made it even more interesting. Did I mention that this book was funny? Let me rephrase: It was hilarious! I wouldn't know how to describe funny but if you read it, you will know.

This book will be on sale on June 2015.

Proof of Forever || Book Review

Proof of Forever

We all have friends we swore to be together forever. We all have friends we swore to never fall apart. We all have friends we swore to grow up with. But reality isn't all that pretty. This book tells a story of four girls who used to be the best of friends but grew apart from each other as they grow up. One day, one of them, Joy, called them up for a reunion. Tali, Luca, and Zoe wasn't sure why out in the blue Joy would want to meet but something in them felt right to go.

When they met, they decided to bury their memories and to say goodbye to the past. But before they could do so, something happened. They were suddenly knocked out by a big flash of light. Before they could catch their breath, they are back in Camp OK, two years ago when they were still the closes friends.

Trying to get back to the presents, the girls each learn secrets, not only of each other but also of themselves. The figure that they cant change the past because it would change the future. However, a little part of them each wished the future were a little different. As they learn more of themselves, they hope for a second chance and a wish of hope in the future. In the end, the three girls learnt a terrifying sad truth behind Joy's sudden wish for the reunion.

It was a easy book to read, filled with emotions and excitements. You could easily connect with the character and helplessly drown yourself in the fantasy of this book. A book fills your time but a good book fills your mind. After reading this book, I sat down and had flash backs to my kindergarten friend, my childhood playmates, my middle school homes and my high school babes. Truth is, sometimes friendship does end, so without being said, before the chapter of friendship comes to a The End, have fun, live wild and cherish the moments.

A Fireproof Home For the Bride || Book Review

A Fireproof Home For the Bride

She is a brave, strong girl but was born in the wrong time, in the wrong century. Emmy is a Lutheran, she knew her faith that in the future, she would get married to the boy in town and be a lovely wife with 4 children. But she knows and believes that she is more then that. After discovering the buried truth of her family and her religion, she was more keen to dig up the towns' mystery. The truth burns her soul with hot ice flame.

While she was meant to be married to a guy whom she had known all her life, she fell in love with a Catholic boy who was rich and utterly good looking. Because he was Catholic, it was against her religious believe and her family's legacy.

As she discover more and more truth, it was like one small cut after another, bleeding out her thicken skin. All of the things she thought was true and the people whom she though she knew deeply, turned to be a lie.

I really enjoyed this book. It is quite old century but it emphasize the strength and independent of a young girl who had nothing and no one to believe in her but herself. She believed that she could so she did. It was both motivational and inspirational.
