Top 5 Myth from Childhood

Hello Beautiful People!

Do you remember some of the things we 90s kids do as a believe? Here are some top 5 myth that we thought were or still is true.

1. Counting 1 to 100 when we can't fall asleep.

I remember when I just could not go to bed, my dad would ask me to count 1-100. But guys, the thing is, it doesn't work this way. Sleeping was meant for our brains to rest and shut down from thinking after the whole day of work. Yes I know there is REMS and Dream modes but those come naturally, when you count 1 to 100, then you are basically forcing your brain to think and come up with the next number. The reason why we do fall asleep after counting is because you give up and just decide to shut your eyes and go to bed. End of story.

2. You use your whole brain

I have read that if you are right handed, you use your left brain, and if you're left handed you use your right brain. Its not true! Every part of your brain works. Its just that when doing different activities, different parts of your brain get trigger to function. Say if you are walking, the center of your brain functions. When you are seeing things, the front part of your brain awakes. When you are memorizing stuff, your right side of the brain moves it's gear. So we do use all of our brains, congratulation !

3. Counting till ten will calm you down when you are angry at someone.

When you are angry, just be angry, counting till ten just make you feel annoyed and eventually over power the anger emotions. But psychologically, it doesn't work. We human are meant to feel things. Let say you are happy, you don't count to ten to stop being happen so why do you want ti count to ten when angry? Be angry and be what your mind whats to feel. The more you go against it the more you will think about it and the more you over think it. So stop counting to 10, you will just annoy your brain.

4. Dropping a penny from a tall building will kill someone.

If you were to head to the top of the Empire State Building and fling a penny down to the sidewalk below, it won’t kill anyone. Pennies are fairly lightweight at around one gram and being a flat circle doesn't bode well in terms of aerodynamics.

5. It takes seven years to digest swallowed chewing gum.

Chewing gum does not take seven years to digest. In fact, you don’t even digest it at all. Aside from a small amount of sweeteners and flavorings, there’s really not a lot inside the gum that the human body can actually break down and use. The bulk of gum is made out of rubbery polymers known as elastomers along with glycerin and vegetable oil-based ingredients to keep the gum soft and moist. Once the body has extracted what little it can from the gum, the rest is passed along as waste, just like anything else. However, that doesn't mean swallowing gum is a great idea. Swallowing large amounts of gum can cause constipation and gastrointestinal blockage that needs to be removed by a physician.

I hope you find this interesting and fun because it was sure to know the sad truth that we have had been believing. Hope you enjoy and thanks for reading !

Hugs and kisses.
